Laparoscopic Training

The laparoscopic training and competition session is a great opportunity for the young professionals to practice during a  virtual surgical training, assisted by a specialist, on basic laparoscopic skills. During the virtual operation the software analyzes and save a number of parameters to provide indication on the correct procedure.
Anyone, including those who have not any previous surgical experience or are not involved in surgical aspects of transplantation, will have the possibility to test the device.
The aim is to share working experiences and bring young transplant professionals closer to each other. An optional competiton will run at the same time, with a very nice prize for the winners.

Training schedule:

Monday, September 9     09:00 - 18:05
Tuesday, September 10   09:00 - 18:05

Rising Star Award presentation   -  Tuesday, September 10  18:15 - 18:30

The winner of the Rising Stars Session competition will repeat the presentation at the Lounge, in the cutting-edge Pecha Kucha technique.  A presentation format originating from designers and architects, where speakers make their point in  20 slides for 20 seconds each.  This format keeps presentations concise and fast-paced, a challenge for any presenter, who has to combine research and presenting skills.

An award will be assigned to the best presented and most innovative work amongst these four presentations.
